Went on Saturday morning at about 7:50 am and left at 8:40 am. The car park was quite empty at both times. The trails were quite monotonous, nothing exciting. After 5 minutes, the scenery repeats. Some trails were slippery because of the mosses on the ground.

Although a good park with 2-3 short walking trails outside of the city area, it is still a bit of an overrated one. I will always prefer McRitchie Trail at any time as there's nothing much to explore for more than 1-2 hours.

Our family had an exciting adventure today, spending time hiking and exploring Thomson Nature Park. We discovered the ruins of old houses, encountered some playful monkeys and squirrels, and even met fellow nature enthusiasts along the way. It's truly amazing to experience the feeling of being in the jungle right next to the bustling city of Singapore.

This park is very interesting primarily because of the history of the people who used to live there (including the family who run Han's). Its a real pity that so many of the information boards are faded now so you can't read the history, considering the park was opened not too long ago in 2019. I hope NParks will replace the boards with more weather durable ink. Tips for visitors - At the minimum, do 3 trails (Rambutan Trail, Streams & Fern Trail, Ruins & Figs Trail). - Wear good shoes - tree roots have broken through the paths in some places and it's uneven, and some parts are uphill -Definitely wear insect repellant - It's a quiet park with meandering paths, and lots of shady vegetation which make it a bit dark at around 6ish, so you may want to visit with some company instead of solo :)

Nice tranquil plan, 2nd visit after the opening. Almost no people, peaceful to home and enjoy nature. Had the whole car park to myself! Can see some macaque families and monitor lizards. Recommended for family walks in the morning or evening Nice swing at the entrance too!

A nice place to walk around and to see some of left of old Hainan village. Along the way found wild boar protecting her baby and a 1 inch big ant which I last saw it years back.

The trails were very fun and we took less than 2h to walk every color (total got 5 trails)πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈthe toilet was very clean and the weather was just nice, not too hot and like what other reviews said, there was nice shade from the trees and cool breeze πŸ˜€ we even met a bird watcher who was very kind to let us ask him questions and take photos of his finding, respect for him standing there for 3 hours (we had a mini scare cause we thought he was a statue but then he greeted us πŸ˜‚) the other hikers were very friendly and even blessed us on our day πŸ™ it was kinda confusing which thankfully there were many signs to guide us on where and how to walk πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ do rmb to wear mosquito repellent cause I saw a huge mosquito on my wrist that just started its meal but luckily I swatted it away so the bite is not that swollen hehe 🦟 there were lots of historical facts and informative signboards about the past dwellers of the area hence, very interesting to think about how we are hiking at places where people used to live at and maybe our descendents will also do the same in future I recommend wear sweatpants cause that's what I wore to prevent bugs and rmb to wear sunscreen 🌞 bring water bottle, tissues/towels and wear sports shoes cause most of the paths are rough and slippery due to leaves πŸƒ most animals stay away from us and we saw alot of squirrels, a lizard, many chickens (when we exited from where we came in at the main entrance and during our walk), many insects (dragonflies, moths, butterflies, spiders etc), variety of birds (there were alot of different species when we saw the bird watcher's camera), gang of monkeys πŸ’ Story of our lives: we wanted to exit the hike so as I turned to the left, I saw a lone monkey and took a picture πŸ“Έ then as I turned to look back to call my friend who had retreated, I saw another monkey πŸ’ then far behind, there was a gang of at least 20 more monkeys and that was when I nope'd out of there 🚫 we u-turned the way we came which meant walking uphill but it was either that or a gang of monkeys 🀣 100% recommend coming here as there were not many people ystd late afternoon when we started walking at 3.40pm till 5 plus πŸ’― alight at upper thomson mrt (brown line) then go exit 5 and take 980 or 167 from the nearest bus stop and alight "Aft Tagore Dr" then walk 5 minutes (200m) in the direction of the cars forward, you will be able to see buildings on your left and that is the main entrance πŸ™†β€β™€ came here because of Confirm Good's article πŸ‘

Lovely place, quiet, natural and serene. 1 trail is about 1++km, so highly recommended to come early. Lots of slopes & can be slightly slippery due to the moss, so wear proper shoes
